Flow Macro — Privacy Policy

Flow Macro (“the app”) automatically performs actions you set up when certain text or notifications appear on your screen. This page explains what information the app uses and how. See also our Terms of Use.
1. Accessibility service (AccessibilityService API)
Flow Macro’s core function — running the flows you build — uses Android’s AccessibilityService API. Before the app sends you to the system setting to turn it on, it shows an in-app notice explaining the points below and asks for your consent. The app is not an accessibility tool for people with disabilities and does not declare itself as one.
What it reads
- Text and elements shown on the screen (such as buttons and input fields, their names or IDs and their positions) and the name of the app in the foreground.
- The title and text of notifications.
- Find by picture (Android 11+): only while a flow is looking for a picture you cut from the screen, the app takes screenshots to find it.
- Find text in images (Android 11+): only while a flow is looking for text that is drawn as a picture (games, web pages), the app takes screenshots and reads the text on your device with Google ML Kit. The screenshots and the text read from them never leave your device.
What it does
- It taps, swipes, types text and opens apps only as set in flows that you create, and only when you start a flow with ▶, turn a flow on, or set a schedule for it. The app does not decide by itself what to do or which actions to perform.
- It does not change your device settings, prevent you from uninstalling or turning off the app, or get around Android’s security or privacy features.
How the data is handled
- On-screen content, notification content and screenshots are compared with your flows on the device only. They are not stored, not sent to any server and not shared with third parties, and screenshots are discarded right away.
- Exceptions you control: when you build a flow, the text, element names and pictures you pick on the screen are saved in that flow on your device. If you sign in, your flows are backed up to our server (see section 2). If you turn on “Include app names in diagnostics”, the name of the app a flow ran in is sent with usage statistics.
- Data from the accessibility service is never used for advertising, ad targeting, or sale of data.
- You can turn the service off at any time in Settings › Accessibility; flows stop running while it is off.
1-1. Flow Keyboard
- The app includes an optional keyboard, Flow Keyboard, used only to type text that you wrote into your own flows (for example a reply or a search word) into fields that do not accept text any other way.
- It has no keys for you to type on, it does not record, store or send anything you type with other keyboards, and it switches back to your usual keyboard right after typing.
- It works only if you turn it on in system settings, and you can turn it off at any time.
2. Information we collect
| Information | Purpose | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Usage statistics (features used, whether automatic runs succeeded, delays) | Improve the app, analytics | Firebase Analytics. Cannot be turned off |
| Crash logs and diagnostics | Fix bugs | Firebase |
| Device identifiers (Firebase app instance ID, advertising ID) | Analytics, ads | May be shared with Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) |
| Name of the app that was auto-run | Analytics | Optional. Only if you turn on “Include app names in diagnostics” |
| Google account info (name, email, account ID) and backed-up flows, waits and actions (including the text, element names and pictures you picked on the screen for them) | Backup and restore across devices | Optional. Stored on our server (Firebase) only if you sign in |
| A flow you share with Share link (its name, steps and the text in them, the app it runs in — after you edit or clear personal text on the share screen; never pictures), and a salted hash of your IP address to limit uploads | Make a short link that others can open | Optional. Only when you tap Send link. No sign-in needed. Anyone with the link can see that flow |
| Text you write in “Send feedback” | Reply to you | Only when you send it |
| Purchase status (whether you have Pro, purchase time) | Provide the paid feature | Payments are handled by Google Play; the app never receives your card details |
On-screen text, notification content, typed text, screenshots and flow names are not collected as usage statistics.
3. Third-party services
- Google Firebase (analytics, diagnostics, sign-in, backup storage)
- Google AdMob (ads for free users) — uses the advertising ID and similar data. You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent through Google's consent message before loading ads, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices.
- Google Play Billing
These services process data under their own privacy policies. We do not sell your information.
4. Retention and deletion
- Delete your account: in the app, go to Settings › Delete account to immediately delete your sign-in account and the profile, flows, waits and actions backed up on our server. Data on your phone remains (it is removed when you uninstall the app).
- Request deletion on the web: if you can’t use the app, email jpyo0613@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my account”. We will delete it without undue delay.
- Deleted flows, waits and actions are kept on the server with a deletion mark for 30 days (so other devices don’t restore them), then permanently removed.
- Shared flows: kept for one year after the link was last opened, then deleted automatically. To have one removed sooner, email the link to jpyo0613@gmail.com. The salted IP hash used to limit uploads is deleted after two days.
- Usage statistics are deleted after Firebase’s retention period (2 months by default).
5. Transmission and security
Information exchanged with our servers is encrypted with HTTPS.
6. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
